SWITCHmark Line Meets EU Restrictions

FLEXCON Co., Inc., Spencer, MA, announced that its SWITCHmark line of laminating adhesives, spacers, overlaminates, and backer materials for membrane switches meets the European Union’s (EU) Restrictions on Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Compliance in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directives (2002/95/EC, 2003/11/EC, and 76/769/ECC). The compliance is mandatory for OEMs that sell equipment in Europe.

The EU implemented RoHS standardization for electronics waste removal in an effort to curb environmental issues from improper disposal. The directives specify the maximum allowable levels of heavy metals, PBBs (polybrominated biphenyls), PBDEs (polybrominated diphenyl ether), PentaBDE (pentabromodiphenyl ethers), and OctaBDE (octabrominated diphenyl ether), and various phthalates and bromodiphenyl ethers contained in electrical and electronic equipment. FLEXcon Co., Inc. is located at 1 FLEXcon Industrial Park, Spencer, MA 01562-2642, 508-885-8200, fax: 508-885-8400, Web: www.flexcon.com.
