Lancer Group Int’l (www.lancergroup.com) now offers a plastisol-based alternative to aqueous formulations for garment printers who want to add foil effects to apparel. Excalibur 801 Foil Proof is a clear-coat plastisol that’s formulated to repel foil. Lancer Group says apparel decorators need only to screen print Foil Proof on areas where they don’t want foil to stick. Lancer Group suggests using a finer mesh (160-200 threads/in.) with Foil Proof to lay down a thinner ink film and a print/flash/print routine for maximum foil resistance after heat sealing.
