The screen-printing industry was recently saddened by the loss of Mark Dailey. He served IKONICS Corporation’s Chromaline Screen Print Products division as technical sales representative for 16 years.
Ikonics Corp. marked Dailey’s June 21, 2009 passing with the establishment of the Mark Dailey Memorial Scholarship at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, where Dailey studied graphic-design management. The scholarship will be offered to UW-Stout juniors and seniors in the Graphic Arts Management major who demonstrate passion for and persistence in pursuing the graphic arts, particularly screen printing.
“Mark’s legacy will be lived out in the numerous relationships he fostered, nurtured and kept throughout the industry,” says Mike Skrbich, North American sales manager for Chromaline. “We were fortunate to have Mark representing Chromaline while also pursuing and following his own personal values and work ethic. Mark was a class act, a friend, mentor, and always the voice of reason. Mark selflessly thought of those around him and always had regard for all.”
Dailey started his career with Ikonics, then known as The Chromaline Corp., in 1993, after years of owning his own screen-printing business, The Dailey Press, in Superior, WI. During his tenure with the company, he saw the industry evolve to an increasingly technical business. Dailey specialized in keeping ahead of the quickly changing technology.
Ikonics President and CEO Bill Ulland recalls that “Mark was a technologist at heart. He was passionate about continually learning the most recent and emerging technologies. In this, Mark became a leader among his peers and colleagues. This, along with his good humor, wit, and strong work ethic provided the foundation for the relationships Mark was able to maintain over the years and throughout the industry. He will be missed by many.”
