Kiian Specialty Inks (www.kiian.com) has developed FREE, a full line of plastisol inks containing no PVC or phthalates, to be marketed under the company’s Manoukian-Argon brand. Designed to offer the ease of use, performance, and productivity characteristics of traditional plastisols, FREE inks can be used with most textiles, from cotton to synthetics, and are furnished ready to print with no mixing, additives, or special procedures in handling or storage. They can be printed wet on wet with no restrictions and do not dry in the screen at room temperature. According to Kiian, the inks have received OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and GOTS2 certification, and have also been recognized as compliant with Nike’s Restricted Substances List following independent testing. The FREE line includes bases; transparent, semi-opaque, and standard colors; OP (high opacity); FLUO (fluorescent); four-color process inks; anti-bleeding gray for base layers on garment colors prone to bleeding; 3D transparent; and transfer base. The inks are also compatible with special-effects additives such as glitter and metallic powders.
