Switch Producers Talk Tech at Symposium

(August 2007) posted on Wed Aug 08, 2007

The annual SGIA Membrane Switch Symposium, held this year on June 19-20 in the Philadelphia area, brought networking, technical discussions, and market updates to attendees. Those who participated spent two days learning about the latest industry issues and making business contacts. “There was a good industry buzz going the entire time,” says Michele Liston, SGIA's director of conventions and conferences. “This symposium is the only event that represents this close-knit, and powerful, industry niche.”

This year’s event featured a day-long golf outing, tour of MacDermid Autotype’s new plant, educational presentations, and more. Attendees who visited MacDermid Autotype’s plant got to see its film-coating and conversion operations, where the company produces hard-coated films, photopolymer film resists, and flexographic substrates.

Educational sessions at the Membrane Switch Symposium included talks about standards, advances in screen printing and materials, inkjet printing, lean manufacturing, UV curing, polymer films, printed batteries, and more. The Membrane Switch Symposium was sponsored by Form-X, Inc., LasX Industries, MacDermid Autotype, Inc., and Preco, Inc.
