Need Help on SOP Manual for Textile Facility

Posted on Tue, 31 Aug 2004 at 18:02

I am in the process of writing a Standard Operating Procedures Manual for my Textile Screen Printing Facility and need help locating a template or if someone could recommend where I could find a manual and rewrite to fit our needs or procedures. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have some experience in writing SOP at a small operation. The main thing that helped was understanding what we did in our shop...from first entering the shop to end of day. It's really all about what you do, what you expect (standards) and how you do each step. Just make notes during a regular work day for a couple of weeks. Take your time, then ask others for input (in writing) and do some fine tuning...the old measure twice, cut once works. I also found some great info on SGIA/articles on SOP, production, etc. It's really a lot easier than I made it! No one else can tell you how your shop is organized or what needs fine tuning.
