Color Percentage Range for Screenprinting

Posted on Sat, 4 Sep 2004 at 22:46

I use Corel Draw 12 and am wondering, is there someone out there that can tell me the range possible in screenprinting for a color? For instance, I have a two color design using red and black, I have several different values of black being used to create varying degrees of gray, 20%, 30%, 50%, 70% and 100%

Will these different values come out as shades of gray on a white shirt? Or do I need to keep it to 50% for gray and 100% for black? How much flexibility do I have and do I need to make a dot screen or can a field of solid 20% black work if I printed directly from my Epson onto clear acetate to make camera-ready?

Thanks a bunch!
