We still have a few openings in our 2 day Intro to Screenprinting course running at Squeegeeville studio on Vancouver island in BC Canada.
Dates are Sept 15 and 16 2007
the rest of our scheduled courses for the year are full. We will still take on privately scheduled courses at our facility or yours. Recent travelling training sessions include a manual t-shirt operation in Victoria BC, a beginner art printing course in Sointula, a small island community off the northern tip of Vancouver Island, and automatic machine set up and training for workers at a large glass manufacturing plant in Los Angeles.
Group course at Squeegeeville:
A small class (max 4 people) means lots of handson work as you learn about art and film prep, screens and meshes, coating and exposing techniques, reclaiming, inks and additives, make ready, and press operation. We will also do an overview of the process, history, and its applications.
We will spend time on student's particular area of interest (textiles, graphics, art prints, specialty apps) and students also receive a copy of 'Screenprinting Today - the Basics' which includes simple plans and instructions for a vacuum table, 1 colour t-shirt press, and how to make simple exposures at home.
For more info or to book the course, look under Training and Workshops on the website www.squeegeeville.com
This course is good for beginners, intermediate printers, or teachers who want a tune up of their techniques. Lunch is included, and we encourage visitors to the area to stay for a bit and enjoy our remarkable area of the world - Vancouver Island (google Comox Valley) - at this point we have inexpensive accomodation available in our guest room over the studio.
