4 Color process Help

Posted on Thu, 1 Sep 2005 at 18:13

I just got a job as an art director for this printing company, they do a lot of shirt printing. Well this is my first time printing on material and not on paper. The last two times we have done a four color process job, the print is coming out really dark and muddy. I don't know if its the LPI or profile or the screens they are using. Any Ideas, please help.

Four color printing on garment starts with the positives. The LPi should be no more than 55 or 60 if printing without base and 70 to 90 if printing with base . I prefer 75 with base and 55 without. The angel should be considered very carefully .You can use any angle but as a rule of thumb go with 60 degree for al, the colors . Mesh 100T Yellow for colors and for whites as per body color. Squeegee Triple edge and angle very low . Pressure, try to print the shirt and not the pallet . Result should be to your liking if I am not mistaken .
