I just bought an old Precision Oval 8-color press. I know don't want to here it it was a good deal... I think?
My questions are:
Where do I get parts and service?
Are there any retrofits (to upgrade, micro redg. etc.)
How do I move it 300 miles?
How much does it weight.
Does it come apart?
Can I get a manual or any techinal specs?
The only info I have is:
8-color 16 station
Partial serial ...20 42-5100

I am so glad I stumbled across your question on this forum...it just so happens that I just purchased a precision oval 6 color (I think) it's in great shape I got it on ebay for $500. It's gonna cost me about 1000 to move it. My biggest concern is finding parts, manual and more importantly, someone who knows how to use it. Can you help?

Did you ever find a manual for your 8/16 oval? I see someone sent you the name of Action Engineering for parts. Any luck? I have one just taken out of mothballs; got a manual; do you need a copy? Now I need to find parts.

Interchange in Passaic NJ carries all parts for ovals, the son of the former VP for Precision runs the place. They also do oval links turning 2-6 color machines into a 12 color. They have a very well trained staff of technicians and carry replacement parts.
I worked for Precision for many years, owned a few and worked on countless machines. I do troubleshooting and training on the Ovals, teaching how to get the most out of this unstoppable beast. I also own a Precision System 2 the only electric oval ever built by Precision, still prints like a champ.

I bought the same unit off ebay 1 1/2 years ago. I moved it from Vermont to North Carolina in a rented 24' truck packed full. I have parts company email me monday.
I paid 2500.00 for mine and about 1500.00 to move and install.
