How to griend 65 inch SQUEEGEE ?

Posted on Sat, 27 Nov 2004 at 11:01

Hello all,
I'm buying a Semi Auto press with breadthwise printing squeegee.
problem is which method of grinding is practical for a 65 inch squeegee.
Which is practicallt grinding flawlessly; Diamond head, big grind wheel, belt or what ?

Or is it practical at all to print f/color quality job on 1200 x 1600 mm press printing widthwise(printing with 1200 mm squeegee), due to the task of attaining such precision ultra level edge definition ?

Thanks for the time.

This illustrates one of the problems/challenges when you upgrade your printing expertise/quality. You need to keep all your support equipment/supplies as technically proficient as your printing abilities. This pertains not only to equipment and supplies but also to training. All the major manufacturers such as Thieme and Serilor have squeguee sharpening equipment that will turn out something that won't diminish your printing equipment's capabilities.
If your in one of the larger screen printing markets (Los Angeles, Chicago, Kansas City, New York......) you shouldn't have a problem getting hands on help from these manufacturers, give them a call.

Good Luck
