Light-safe Emulsion ?

Posted on Mon, 24 Oct 2005 at 5:07

Hello,
Is there any emulsion that is light safe; that can be take out from darkroom,to inside another room: (just like the photo emultion-coated plate in offset printing):

1. A. After coating wet condition
2. AFTER DRYING in a dryer
3. Just before exposing
4. After exposing just before washing

Or is it is a must to keep it strictly in dark-room condition ?

Thanks,

Thomas

Stay out of direct sunlight with most dual cures or diazo based emulsions and you should be ok for small amounts of exposure to low level inside lights including flourescent and incadescent bulbs - the amount of UV in the range that activates photoemulsion is negligable.
Better to see what you are doing than to work in the dark.
Take a reading with an integrator - UV light is almost nil when there is no sunlight or direct light from an exposing lamp.
