newman roller modifications

greetings,
does anybody have experience removing caps and shortening rollers
and replacing caps on newman frames? i have access to rollers but
most are too large for my printing table. buying new frames is beyond
my budget at this time.

The endcaps are inserted using significant pressure. You would have a much easier life if you call Stretch Devices in Philadelphia and have them cut down your rollers for you. They will do a proper job of it.
