printing on a Duravar finish?

Posted on Wed, 20 Apr 2005 at 15:05

We are attempting to print a wood job that has a Duravar lacquer finish on it. So far nothing has really worked. We have tried polymeric tf,and lx2 inks, sericol xg solevent ink,nor-cote msk+mp ink with adhesion additive.we have also tried nazdar ade epoxy ink, color fx pp81 epoxy ink, nazdar enamel ink..and nothing seems to be sticking to this finish. the polymeric lx2 with 15% catalyst seems to be the best right now, but if you really try to scratch it, it will come off...does anyone have any experience printing on a duravar finish.
thanks

tried some of the 7200 today, and its still "soft" scratches right off...out of the solevent inks, the ADE epoxy ink is the best right now, sticks better than the 7200 but still is "soft"...the polymeric lx2 with 15% catalyst is the best bonding yet, after it sits for 24 hours it bonds ok....its just one of those jobs that is a pain in the butt, thanks for your reply, i forgot all about the 7200 until you mentioned it, i had a quart of it in the very back of your cabinet that i forgot all about
