Who Else Does This?

I screenprint flat glass substrates with ceramic frit that gets tempered(fused)in a furnace to be used in commercial applications. Few companies do it. Therefore technical info is hard to come by.
I want to know more about screenprinting this application so I can be better than my competition. Where can I come by this info?

There is a link to the Sociaty of Glass and Ceramic Decorators on my links section, you could explore there and track down some info.

What I am looking for are the basics of screenprinting - the fundamentals. I find it hard to locate technical information on basic things like mesh counts vs. theoretical ink volume, troubleshooting, printing non-flat substrates, etc., specifically as they relate to the architectural glass industry. Training in my industry is really word-of-mouth, and not many companies do this work on the west coast. After seven years in the business I am realizing that there is more science to screenprinting than I thought...
Also the company I work for is more interested in the final product rather than how I do it, so not much help there.

Anonymous says: Unfortunately I print for manufacturing company that probably would not be interested funding outside help. Thank you for the offer, though. posted on: Sat, 02/12/2005 - 4:08am
