printing on record (45s) sleeves

Posted on Wed, 6 Oct 2004 at 17:04

hi,

i'm going to be helping out a friend of mine by silk screening on clear record (45s) sleeves. it is a simple one color print. the specs i have for the sleeves themselves are 4 mil. thick dupont mylar. they don't feel too slick, but they are kind of 'grippy'. any suggestions on what type/brand of ink i should be using? also, any tips would be greatly appreciated! thanks in advance.

Mylar can vary from different suppliers, what works on one suppliers mylar may not work on the next. Nazdar has several inks that would be appropriate to test. 2700 Series Aqua-Safe water based screen ink, 7200 Series Lacquer, 9600 Polyester with the addition of a catalyst, and 8100 Unipol Epoxy would all be good to test on your mylar.
