I run a screen printing business, and I'm sick and tired of people who think they can fix their car because they don't like their car mechanic. Or how about the person who thinks it shouldn't be that hard to replace the roof on their house (how dare they charge that much money for just throwing some tiles on your roof, right).
Wait a minute, I know, it's those doctors thinking they're the only one's who can operate on a person, please how hard can it be to take out a kidney or something.

I never thought of myself as an "amatuer", or as a professional for that matter. I'm just an ordinary person who has been making a living in the membrane switch/graphic overlay market (automotive and appliance specific) for the past 18 years. I've set-up 4 screenprint facilities from concept to production (that includes "figuring how to use it"), ISO and QS 9000 registration, and all that "good stuff". My reply to Mr. Hartmann was just common courtsey extended to another member of our industry.

Wanting to learn is one thing, we all will teach anyone who wants to know. But to think the information can be communicated over this meduim is silly. Especially after we have put in decades of honing our craft with all the problems associated with it. That us what Paul is saying I think.
The best (and only) way to learn, is to be an apprentise, and learn from a master printer.
