what type of ink should i use......

Posted on Wed, 6 Oct 2004 at 17:02

hi,

i'm going to be helping out a friend of mine by silk screening on clear record (45s) sleeves. it is a simple one color print. the specs i have for the sleeves themselves are 4 mil. thick dupont mylar. they don't feel too slick, but they are kind of 'grippy'. any suggestions on what type/brand of ink i should be using? also, any tips would be greatly appreciated! thanks in advance.

Hi,

It sounds like a polyester (Mylar) ink would do the trick for you. There are several I can think of off the top of my head:

Nazdar 9600 Series Polyester Screen Ink
Deco-Tech Printcolor Series 325 Polyester screen ink
Coates Screen C32 series
Cudner & O'Connor PE Polyester ink
Cudner & O'Connor PR series
Marabu Marastar SR

etc., etc.

Cheers,
Denise :-)
