Western Graphtec developed its CE3000Mk2 series of cutting plotters for start-up sign and graphics shops. Two models are available: CE3000Mk2-60 (24 in./610 mm) and CE3000Mk2-120 (48 in./1219 mm). Each features a sensor that detects registration marks printed on digitally produced images and compensates for media misalignment, shifting, and dimensional changes. Users can set up to eight set-up conditions for recall, and a SmartFeed function accommodates unattended operation. The plotters are equipped with a 2-MB buffer, multi-platform connectivity, and a media stand/floor stand. The CE3000Mk2 plotters use Cutting Master and QuickCut plug-in software. Both interface with common graphics and illustration applications, and users can output designs created in their own illustration software directly to the plotters. The CE3000Mk2-60 offers maximum cutting force of 300g and cutting speeds of 24 in./sec (610 mm/sec). The CE3000Mk2-120 supports a maximum cutting force of 450g and speeds up to 39 in./sec (991 mm/sec).
