Inca Digital's R40i UV Flatbed Inkjet Printer

Users can modify the machine to print from four to seven colors, including white.

The Onset R40i UV flatbed from Inca Digital, distributed exclusively by Fujifilm (www.fujifilm.com), uses Fujifilm Dimatix Spectra printheads, delivers a 14-pL drop size, and is based on the company’s Onset Scalable Architecture platform. The R40i is available in several color configurations: CMYK, CMYKLcLm, CMYK + White, and CMYKLcLm + White. Users can modify their machine from a four-color configuration to five, six, or seven colors (using up to eight ink channels, two for white ink). Users can also adapt other elements of the printer to suit evolving production needs, including UV curing lamps, automation, speed modes, electronics, and software. A choice of uni-directional, bi-directional, and super-high-quality print modes can be selected, with top speeds of 4306 sq ft/hr in 12-pass mode, 3229 sq ft/hr in 18-pass mode, and 1830 sq ft/hr in 32-pass mode. Maximum resolution is 1200 dpi (apparent) and maximum print size is 123.6 x 63 in. The R40i is compatible with Inca’s flexible automation system, giving users the choice to operate manually or with semi- or three-quarter automation.
