Virginia High Schoolers Visit SGIA for Hands-On Instruction

Monroe Technology Center students practice garment decoration.

Students in the Graphic Communications program at the C.S. Monroe Technology Center in Leesburg, Virginia, had the chance to visit the SGIA headquarters in nearby Fairfax for a day of hands-on training. The 11th and 12th graders follow a curriculum focused on graphics software, print layout, and graphics theory, but their hands-on experience is limited.

Led by Johnny Shell, SGIA VP of technical services, education sessions included tips on squeegee basics to proper foil techniques. Each student took home a T-shirt they made themselves.
